Candle – it glows like life.
It flickers like our flickering faith
And shimmers like our shimmering hope.
It grows like our aspirations
And stands steady – like our sometimes calm lives;
Only to encounter the storm
And struggle to survive –
It fights like we do
And lives too…
We celebrate – it glows;
We mourn – it glows;
In temples, in altars it glows;
In the solitude of memorials it glows.
And it burns when it glows –
With every flicker and shimmer,
With every fight and struggle,
It burns and it glows.
Towards its end it glows.
Candle – it glows like life.
And it dies like life…
